Mizzou - New Instructor? Start Here! Online

This Mizzou-focused session is part of UM Academic Technology's Instructor Bootcamp.

Kick off the instructor bootcamp with "New Instructor, Start Here!" a welcome and practical session led by Bryant "Laz" Lazenby and David Becker Jr. from Mizzou Online. Join us Monday, January 5, at 9:00 AM to get oriented, connected, and ready to teach with confidence.

This session offers a quick and helpful overview for anyone new to online teaching (or wanting a refresher). You'll learn:

  • How Mizzou Online and UM Academic Technology work together to help you take your teaching to the next level.
  • Where to find professional learning programs like our Online Teaching Certification Seminar and Sprint mini-courses.

I’m a lifelong learner and technology lover who joined Missouri Online as an Instructional Designer in July 2021.  I’m a Level 2 Google Certified Educator with over 10 years of teaching experience in secondary and post-secondary education. I am currently finishing my doctoral degree in instructional leadership from Lindenwood University, where my research focus is on teacher perceptions of gamification as a learning tool. When I’m not in front of my computer, I can generally be found reading, attending local painting classes, or, most recently, gardening.
